SET 1 – Four pianists
Music by four different pianists: Stefano Battaglia’s “In the morning – Music by Alec Wilder” (ECM); Brasil’s Júlia Tygel (Adventure Music);
Tigran Hamasyan’s new album “Luys I Luso” (ECM); and Max Richter From Sleep” from England (DG)
SET 2 – Mediterranean music

Music by the Corsican vocal ensemble A Filetta, album titled “Castelli” (World Village); two singer-songwriters from Palestine, Sana Moussa and Haya Zaatry (The Rough Guide to the Music of Palestine- World Music Network); and The Gurdjieff Ensemble playing the music of Armenia’s renowned Komitas (ECM)

SET 3 – New African music
The new album by Mali’s Ballaké Sissoko & France’s Vincent Segal called “Musique de Nuit” (Six Degrees). Daby Touré’s new record “Amonafi” (Cumbancha). Ghana’s marimba player SK Kakraba and his new album “Songs of Paapieye” (Awesome Tapes from Africa), and Mali’s legendary super band “Les Ambassadeurs” (World Village).
 
SET 4 – New Afro-Latin Music
For the final set of today’s program we’ll be hearing new music from Cuban violinist Dayrén Santamaria’s new album “Belleza” (www.dayren.com). And to cap the set and this first episode, new music from Eddie Palmieri (CD Baby) and a piece from Chucho Valdés album “Border-Free” (Jazz Village). Eddie Palmieri Orchestra and Chucho Valdés & Irakere 40 are performing on Tuesday, October 20th at Disney Hall in Los Angeles. Don’t miss this once in a lifetime concert.
